  10. NEXTSTEP Audio Driver released for ENSONIQ Soundscape multimedia sound cards
  11.

  13. BELLEVUE, WA- March 17 - Sound Consulting is shipping Release 3.30
  14. of the EnsoniqSoundscape Audio Driver.  This is the only NEXTSTEP
  15. solution providing support for both Audio and MIDI features on one
  16. Intel adaptor board.  Compatibility with the currently shipping
  17. MusicKit MidiDriver enables Intel machines running NEXTSTEP to
  18. allocate a single ISA or EISA slot to the combined functions of
  19. Audio and MIDI.  The Soundscape is the only shipping hardware
  20. solution which meets or exceeds the quality of the Microsoft Windows
  21. Sound System card that is no longer being produced, an important
  22. factor for performance under NEXTSTEP.

  25. featuring 16-bit stereo I/O and on-board General MIDI Synthesis,

  28. The currently shipping version of the EnsoniqSoundscape driver is
  29. designed to work with the jumpered I/O versions of the ENSONIQ
  30. Soundscape and its compatible cards from third-party manufacturers
  31. such as NEC who use the ENSONIQ chipsets.  Plug-and-Play support
  32. is under development and will be shipping soon.  Installation and
  33. configuration are made simple by a full-featured custom interface
  34. for the Configure application, with driver-specific online help.

  37. the hardware's on-board ten channel stereo mixer.
